Dr. Ekua Agyemang

Dr. Ekua Agyemang is a Specialist Physician in Public Health and Preventive Medicine. She trained and worked in Ghana as a General Practitioner and underwent Specialist Training at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. She is passionate about addressing the inequities that result in Addiction and Mental Health issues through system-level transformation. Presently, she resides in Nunavut where she is the Acting Chief Medical Officer for the Terrority and provides remote support to The Smart Clinic. 

When not working, she enjoys volunteering with her community and exploring the outdoors with her family and friends.

Land Acknowledgment

Treaty 7 land encompasses the territories of the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, and Tsuut'ina First Nations, the Stoney Nakoda, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations. The Smart Clinic, in the City of Calgary (traditionally named Mohkínstsis) is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. We recognize that Calgary is situated on the land where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We acknowledge the responsibility we hold to the people and land with which we exist.
