Matylde Tshilombo
Maty is a Licensed Practical Nurse and has experience in-patient and out-patient treatment centers managing chronic pain, mental health and opioid dependency. She has gained extensive skills in helping patients combat their Emotional Traumas and discover their strength, increasing self-esteem while motivating them through recovery. Within The Smart Clinic, Maty spends time with patients, gathering information and providing health promotion before the doctor's consultations and participates in the formulation of a management plan. She also assists patients in accessing applications for in-patient treatment centers, providing income support, and researching housing programs. She is focused on guiding patients to become more self aware and resilient in understanding their behaviors along with tools to manage day-to-day situational crisis using CBT, DBT, and motivational style therapy. Additionally, monitoring information from community pharmacies, assessments specific to addiction i.e. the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS), Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol withdrawal (CIWA) and the Administration of Narcan Injections and educating patients on their specific treatment plans are a part of her role.
